You stand in the busy outer ward of Castle Anvard, full of people seeing to the needs of king and kingdom. There are market stalls along the outer wall, bustling with merchants and shoppers. Grooms work in the stables, tending to the horses there, and you hear the occasional bark of a dog from the kennels. The sounds of hammer hitting iron rings out from the blacksmith shop. There are stairs leading to the gate towers on the northern and southern corners of the outer curtain. To the east is the outer gatehouse, and the road leading into the realm of Archenland, and to the west another gate, leading to the inner gatehouse, the inner ward, and the main keep of Anvard.

eve with short, copper hair (Megren); and A son of adam wearing a red tunic

(Darius).

Darius’s observation remains vigilant as he is nudged, making no effort to turn to her. “Evening. ”

Dalia makes her way across the ward, catching sight of and waving to Megren as she does.

Megren crosses her arms and squints up at the sky. “Got a knife on you, friend. Want to hand it over, or go home and put it away and come back?”

Haft walks out of the North stair.  Scanning the Ward, he sees Megren in conversation with Darius and stays where he is.

Darius doesn’t bat an eye, gaze turning to the Daughter of eve as she waves. “Aye, I do have one. ” He nods towards Dalia. “Looks like you got a friend over there. ”

Megren glances over at him, not yet uncrossing her arms. “Last time I tried to take a look at that thing you were real jumpy about it. It’s really worth it to lose it?”

Haft narrows his eyes, seeing the familiar scabbard.

Dalia glances around the ward, taking in the son of adam and Megren as well as Haft. She drops her hand, going to the next stall and looking at the items there.

Darius continues watching the one whom waved as she then moves on. “I’d enjoy keeping it, that is for certain. ”

Megren says, “Go on home, then, please. Else, I’ll hand it back to you when you’re done with your business in the ward.”

Haft crosses his arms and leans against the wall.

The corners of Aaron’s mouth flicker upward, followed quickly by a soft snort. “Why? I have never threatened any with it. ” he finally looks to her, brow quirking. “In fact, -I- am the only person here whom actually -has- been threatened with a knife. Within these hallowed walls, no less! ” he hehs, looking back to the market. “Can’t say I feel all too -safe- without it by my side. ”

Megren gives him a nice pitying pout. “And yet the Captain said no weapons.” She grins, and nudges him again. “Don’t worry. I’ll protect ya.”

Dalia shakes her head, setting down the seller’s merchandise and moves to speak with another merchant, a friendly conversation starting.

Darius rolls his eyes, still smirking. “Aye… Well, you have been the nicest of the Castle I have met so far. ” he begins loosing the strap that holds his sheath before bundling it up and handing it to her.

Darius hands Dagger to Megren.

Megren takes the bundle in both hands and tucks it away on the side opposite him. “Thanks.” She smiles angelically. “I try.”

Haft watches, expressionless.

Dalia gestures to packages she’s holding and as she speaks with her friend who nods and smiles giving Dalia small squeeze. Dalia smiles and waves.

Darius dips his head to her, smiling wide and kicking himself off of the wall. “Besides, goodness knows I have a soft spot for pretty ladies,” he adds as he begins taking a few steps into the market, his eyes searching for something.

Megren walks along beside him, her gait a casual one. “I was going more for alluring, but I’ll take it.”

Haft remains against the wall, scanning the Ward.

Darius seems amused by her response, nodding once. “Alluring it is then Megren. ” he chuckles, clasping his hands behind his back as he continues searching. “I do wonder though, -why- are you so interested in me? I am -not- all that interesting contrary to what you might believe. ” he shakes his head, eyes locking onto the thing, or rather, person he had been searching for. “Besides, such a vested interest in someone can be quite unhealthy. ” He gestures towards Dalia. “Others might very well thing you are ignoring them. ”

Megren tilts her head, sparing Dalia a glance. “If you would like to imagine I am quite in love with you, then I’m sure it’s within your rights to do so. Who are you looking for?”

Haft turns silently and makes his way back into the tower.

You stand on Anvard’s Inner Wall Walk. From here you have a view of both the Inner and Outer Wards. A cool wind ruffles your clothes. A glance down into the Outer Ward reveals the bustle of people going to and from the market stalls, or off to various duties throughout the castle. In the Inner Ward you see nobles and staff, mingling happily or going about their own business.

You can go: Toward the Trapdoor Opening <N>, Southern Watchtower <S>

Contents: A son of adam with a scar running over his left eye and cheek

(Garian) and A son of adam with a scarred face and sharp features (Tyren).

Tyren hehs, with a slow nod. “So it can… so it can.”

Garian catches the move and immediately scowls again.

Haft strides onto the wall walk, notes his captain is already aware of what is taking place below, and in conversation with a knight, and stops some distance away, observing the Outer Ward.

Outer Ward> Darius shoots her a confused look. “She waved at you and you didn’t take notice. ”

Tyren says, “What can be done, has, for the moment, I think. And the wards shall be well covered in case something further needs be done.”

Garian grunts and gives a mirthless chuckle. “Yes. I have set a nice watch on both wards–but focused some of my most vigilant on the Gatehouse and Outer Ward because of him.” He catches movement and looks to see Haft. He nods, “Guardsman.”

Outer Ward> Megren hms? “Oh, I didn’t see. Not a very good guard, am I? Missing easy things like that.”

Haft nods back.  “Captain.”. He waves his hand to indicate the Ward.  “He tried to play his word games with her, but she got him to hand it over.”

Outer Ward> Darius smirks. “You don’t seem to miss me all that often.”

Tyren nods once to Garian’s words, and again to Haft at his approach.

Haft bows slightly to the knight.  “Sir Tyren.”

Garian smirks a little, “Yes. She’s very good at what she does, isn’t she?” There is a clear note of pride in his voice and he turns his gaze back to the Ward.

Outer Ward> Megren lifts a shoulder and grins back. “Like I said.”

Haft says, “She is.””

Outer Ward> Dalia nods and smiles to Megren as she heads towards the door of the inner ward, she doesn’t make an attempt to call or wave. But the feeling of friendliness is there all the same.

Outer Ward> Megren offers Dalia a grin in return, but doesn’t stop her.

Inner Ward of Anvard> Darrin comes walking into the Ward from the Infirmary door.

Inner Ward of Anvard> Darrin walks through the arch into the inner gatehouse.

Outer Ward> Darrin comes walking into the outer ward past the iron gates.

Outer Ward> Darius crosses his arms, watching the interaction. “I suppose you should catch up with her. ” he muses

Outer Ward> Megren says, “And leave you all unprotected and weaponless? Perish the thought.”

Tyren merely nods once himself, turning his attentions back to the ward.

Garian says somewhat absentmindedly, “I remember the day she came in, asking to join the guard so she could support her father. I was doubtful at first, but then I saw her skills and thought otherwise. And she hasn’t disappointed.”

Inner Ward of Anvard> Kairyn comes walking into the Ward from the Infirmary door.

Inner Ward of Anvard> Kairyn climbs up the open stair which rises up the southern half of the inner curtain.

Outer Ward> Darrin emerges from the main keep at a perhaps more sedated pace than usual.

Haft nods.  “I haven’t spent a great deal of time with her yet.  She seems to be very good at setting others at ease.”

Outer Ward> Darius chuckles, brow furrowing and smile growing. “Oh, why aren’t you just a gem Megren. I’d be careful though, you may very well kill me with kindness if you keep it up. ” he smirks, turning to walk past her. “Then again, you may be doing that man Colin a favor. ”

Outer Ward> Dalia grins catching the last of Megren and the son of Adam’s conversation before heading into the inner ward.

Inner Ward of Anvard> Colin comes walking out of the northeast hall.

Inner Ward of Anvard> Avery comes walking out of the northeast hall.

Inner Ward of Anvard> Colin has connected.

Inner Ward of Anvard> Avery walks west toward the staff quarters.

Inner Ward of Anvard> Colin walks through the arch into the inner gatehouse.

Outer Ward> Colin comes walking into the outer ward past the iron gates.

Outer Ward> OOC> Darius says, “OH FLIP”

Outer Ward> OOC> Colin says, “….it’s deja vu”

Outer Ward> OOC> Darius says, “AXE MY last pose”

Outer Ward> OOC> Megren says, “Lollll”

Inner Ward of Anvard> Kairyn comes walking down the open stair on the west side of the inner ward.

Garian nods, “Indeed.” he relaxes, spying Lord Darrin in the ward.

Inner Ward of Anvard> Kairyn walks northwest into the infirmary.

Outer Ward> Megren steps in his way, pivoting on her foot, so that they look almost to be doing a sort of dance. “How about neither of us does him one, and we call it good with both our heads connected to our shoulders.”

Outer Ward> Darrin notices Megren and Aaron and heads in their direction. He bumps shoulders with Megren as he steps beside her. “Nutmeg! Trouble in paradise, I see.”

Garian leans back and falls into an at ease stance as Darrin joins Megren. He frowns slightly seeing Colin.

Outer Ward> Darius halts as she steps in front of him, brow raising in amusement. “Can’t say I– ” His voice falters as Darrin steps in.

Outer Ward> Megren looks up. “Well hello there, Sir! Me and Aaron here were just having a nice chat.”

Outer Ward> Darrin folds his arms across his chest and beams. “Lovely,” he says.

Outer Ward> Colin emerges from the gatehouse and begins to make his way toward the stables. He slows at the sight of the trio.

Haft leans forward, seeing Sir Colin enter the Ward.

Tyren’s jaw shifts just a touch as Colin walks into the ward.

Garian mutters, “And here we go…” with some exasperation.

Outer Ward> Megren cants her head toward Sir Darrin to indicate him. “See, lots of peaceable folks, if that’s all you’re looking for.” She looks to the knight. “Aaron’s asked for an escort, since he’s going weaponless and all.” She holds up the dagger and sheath which is usually at the man’s side.

Haft glances at the Captain at that comment, before returning his eyes to the unfolding scene.

Tyren shifts his position slightly, glance still riveted to the ward.

Outer Ward> Darius hehs. “Lovely indeed! ” he echoes, smirking at her show of his dagger. “And quite the escort she has been. Truly, she should be commended for her incredible vigilance. ” He says to the man before continuing the dance around her.

Garian’s eyes narrow.

Outer Ward> Colin stays where he is, observing with narrowed eyes.

Haft taps lightly with a finger on the parapet.

Outer Ward> Darrin’s eyes light up at the sight of the dagger. “Indeed? Well, I’m sure we can accomodate him, then. Although it /does/ seem to me that a man doesn’t need an escort unless he’s fearing violence to his person, and I don’t see as any such violence has been committed.” When Aaron sidesteps around Megren and himself, he narrows his eyes at the man, hand straying to the hilt of his sword, though his tone remains light. “Oh aye, quite dedicated, this one.”

Outer Ward> Megren puts her arm around Aaron and starts walking him away from the north side of the ward. “We like our heads, remember?”

Outer Ward> Dalia walks west toward the inner gatehouse.

Inner Ward of Anvard> Dalia comes walking toward you from the inner gatehouse.

Garian asks idly, “So… if Aaron were to get knocked around a bit… by a certain Lord… and I waited to go down and stop it–would that be a fault?”

Tyren says, rather firmly, “If that happens, let me handle it.”

Outer Ward> Darius spins out of the arm gracefully, though thiscauses him to face the rest of the Ward. Catching sight of Colin, he hesitates, though his smile almost seems to grow. “Ah, yes, keep our heads. ”

Inner Ward of Anvard> Dalia walks west toward the staff quarters.

Garian says, “That was an attempt at humor, milord, if perhaps an ill-timed one.”

Garian’s voice perhaps conveys he wasn’t entirely joking.

Outer Ward> Colin is watching when Aaron’s gaze finds him and he returns the man’s smile with a bored, indifferent look.

Haft’s lips twitch slightly and he ducks his head at the Captain’s humor before regaining himself.  He continues to keep time.

Outer Ward> Darrin glances between Megren and Aaron briefly and then seems to make up his mind, as he leaves the pair to stand with his back against the kennel wall, near the door, rather pointedly. “Now you’re talking,” he calls out to Megren and Aaron, still apparently not noticing Colin. “I rather like her head attached, myself.”

Tyren’s glance slides toward Garian for a beat. “Duty holds, even when applied to those who may not have strictly earned it.”

Garian says, “Duty does hold and I swear if he takes two more steps to the Kennel I’m making good on my word to him.”

Outer Ward> Megren aws, tilting the head in question sweetly. “You say the nicest things.” She looks at Aaron and holds the dagger up, looking regretful. “I only get to give this back if I see you’re following the rest of captain’s orders.”

Tyren asks, “And how was that phrased, exactly?”

Garian says, “Do not go anywhere near the Kennels or Lanisen and bear no arms in the Castle.” He leans forward a bit. “Oh… that’s Lord Darrin…. wish I could hear them.”

Haft mutters, “He already bore arms inside the castle, sir.”

Outer Ward> Darius flashes Colin a cheshire cat-like grin before turning to Megren, his brow furrowing. “Ah, I don’t believe that to be the case M’lady. ” he extends his palms outwards. “I am under your protection in here. ” he gestures towards the outer gate. “Out there is a far different story. So I -will- be acquiring what is mine before I leave. ”

Garian smirks, “Aye. And Megren’s handled that beautifully.” He watches her hold up the dagger.

Tyren says, “I was more looking for what the consequence was stated to be.”

Garian says, “Further preventative measures. I have yet to discuss that with my superiors.”

Outer Ward> Megren nods agreeably. “I’ll walk you to the gate, then?”

Tyren nods once to this answer.

Outer Ward> Darrin brings his hand to his mouth and blows a kiss in Megren’s general direction before slouching back against the wall with feigned indifference.

Garian says, “For bearing arms, removal of the weapon until he is off the grounds is appropriate. However, failure to obey an order given by an authority… especially pertaining to this situation would most likely result in a night in a cell. Or some other unpleasant consequence.” He smirks at Darrin’s action.

Outer Ward> Colin continues moving through the ward as if nothing is wrong. His steps carry him in close proximity with Megren and Aaron but he looks as if he will be moving past them.

Tyren says, “Suitable.”

Haft’s finger keeps moving, scarcely audible to the others.

Outer Ward> Megren gives Sir Darrin a very good imitation of the expression Lady Paige might have at the moment.

Garian says, “At ease soldier” without missing a beat, casting a glance in Haft’s direction before looking back at the ward. He gives a hearty laugh at Megren’s expression.

Tyren clears his throat slightly.

Outer Ward> Darrin /finally/ picks up on Sir Colin’s presence when the other knight enters his line of sight and passes by Aaron and Megren. He raises both brows at the guardswoman and has to physically clamp his hand over his mouth to keep from bursting into ill-timed laughter.

Outer Ward> Darius seems to consider this, tapping a hand on his mouth. “Ahh, I don’t know though. I was quite enjoing my time in the Ward. ” He says, voice light and eyes flickering over to the ever-nearing Colin.

Haft cocks his head, ahs, and ceases the motion.

Outer Ward> Megren asks, “Aw, walking about aimless and talking to me? You sure you aren’t falling for me?”

Outer Ward> Colin stops to talk with a stable groom who has emerged from the stables and crossed his path.

Outer Ward> Darius’s eyes follow Colin. ” You never know M’lady. ” he returns, now looking preoccupied.

Garian asks, “Should I go tell him to move along if he has no business Sir?”

Outer Ward> Megren looks at Colin. “He is handsome,” she observes.

Tyren considers for a moment, then shakes his head. “If his aim is to provoke a reaction, wisest not to give him one. Your guard seems to have the situation well in hand for the moment.”

Garian says, with some bitterness, “Yes. Perhaps she’s the only competent one.”

Outer Ward> Colin continues talking with the groom, not appearing to have heard the conversation. But he sure is close enough.

Haft winces sympathetically.

Tyren side-eyes Garian at this.

Outer Ward> Darius :blinks, eyes wide as he looks back to her. “I uh… ” he looks speechless for once. “Excuse me? ”

Garian either doesn’t catch the glance or doesn’t respond to it. He tilts his head to the side, watching Aaron.

Tyren chooses to keep his silence for the moment, instead returning his glance to the scene in the ward.

Outer Ward> Megren nods at him. “I saw you looking. Hard not to, he’s very pretty. Got that sort of chiseled outdoorsy thing going on. It’s…” she waves her free hand looking for the word. “-aesthetic. Like a statue.”

Outer Ward> Colin’s conversing seems to be going pretty well actually.

Haft leans his elbow on the wall, tilting his cheek onto his fist.

Outer Ward> Darius’s brow raises high, eyes nearly popping out of their sockets at her description. “I… see.” His eyes flicker between Megren and Colin.

Outer Ward> Megren pats his shoulder. “Come on. Let’s leave the fellow be and make it safely home, huh?”

Garian’s lips tug and he muses, “I will have to inquire as to what she said. It’s a pity I’m not down there to hear it first hand.”

Dar is currently asleep.

Tyren says, “Whatever it is, it seems to be rather effective.”

Haft nods.

Outer Ward> Darrin scrubs his hand down his face and remains on the ground, coughing a few times.

Outer Ward> Colin nods a farewell to the stable man and makes his way over to the kennels, keeping plenty of space between him and Aaron and Megren, not appearing to even see them.

Outer Ward> Darrin scrambles to his feet as Sir Colin approaches and props a shoulder against the wall, attempting to look Casual.

Outer Ward> Darius considers her proposition, gaze flicking between her and Colin, a twinkle entering his eyes. “I’m not so sure M’lady. ”

Outer Ward> Megren mms?

Outer Ward> Colin leans against the wall with Darrin, saying something to him.

Outer Ward> Colin mumbles “Was … … … … that … … sometime.”, to Darrin.

Outer Ward> Darrin looks surprised, then pleased. He flashes a grin.

Outer Ward> Darrin mumbles “I’d … that.”, to Colin.

Outer Ward> Colin nods, then replies.

Outer Ward> Colin mumbles something incomprehensible to Darrin.

Garian observes the interaction between the lords and smiles a little.

Tyren nods once as he notes this as well, and straightens again.

Outer Ward> Darrin pretends to be affronted.

Outer Ward> Darius seems to decide otherwise and nods to Megren. “On second thought, it is growing quite late. ”

Outer Ward> Darrin mumbles “Please, … you … to ask … … to … … a … question. … AM capable of these things, you know.”, to Colin.

Outer Ward> Colin gives an acknowledging nod before replying.

Outer Ward> Megren pats him on the back. “That’s my friend.” She gestures with her head toward the gate.

Outer Ward> Colin mumbles “Am … … … …”, to Darrin.

Outer Ward> Darius shoots one last glance at Colin, eyes narrowing thoughtfully before turning and slowly walking towards the Outer Gate.

Outer Ward> Darrin leans forward slightly and peers intently into Colin’s face. He nods to himself and then settles back and answers with a straight face.

Outer Ward> Megren walks casually alongside him allll the way.

Outer Ward> Darrin mumbles “… … … … … go with chiseled.”, to Colin.

Tyren narrows his eyes just slightly, not missing Aaron’s expression.

Haft hmms.

Outer Ward> Colin nods in apparent acceptance, lazily watching Megren escort Aaron out.

Garian glances at his companions, giving a small bow to Tyren and nod to Haft. “Excuse me, gentlemen.” He keeps his eyes on the action in the Ward until Aaron departs.

Haft looks to his Captain.

Outer Ward> Darius stops just shy of the gate, extending a hand expectantly. “My dagger?”

Tyren nods to Garian. “Seeing as how things seem to be resolving decently enough, I will be on my way as well. Keep me appraised.”

Garian nods. He pauses a moment, watching Aaron.

Outer Ward> Megren steps outside the gate, then holds the dagger out, bowing over it, where he can take it from her when he also has taken such a step.

Haft follows Garian’s gaze.

Outer Ward> Darrin returns his attention to the pair at the gates, blue eyes keen.

Garian turns and departs the walk.

Outer Ward> Colin places one foot behind him on the wall to aid in his relaxed pose. It might also be convenient to propel forward if one has the mind to.

Garian walks south into the Southern Watchtower.

Inner Ward of Anvard> Garian comes walking down the open stair on the west side of the inner ward.

Inner Ward of Anvard> Garian walks west toward the staff quarters.

Inner Ward of Anvard> Garian walks toward you from the Staff Quarters.

Inner Ward of Anvard> Garian walks through the arch into the inner gatehouse.

Outer Ward> Garian comes walking into the outer ward past the iron gates.

Outer Ward> Darius’s brow raises as she does so. Taking a step forward, he grabs the dagger from her. “Thanks… ”

Outer Ward> Megren nods, taking a step back away. “Maybe leave it at home next time.” She gives him a winning smile. “You’re welcome to request my protection any time.”

Outer Ward> Darrin rubs at the back of his neck and then drops his hand to the hilt of his sword.

Outer Ward> Colin leans his head against the wall, eyes still on  Megren and her charge.

Outer Ward> Garian slips into the Ward from the interior, keeping toward the gate to the Inner Ward. He leans against the wall, making his presence as discreet as possible.

Tyren walks north to the trapdoor opening.

Inner Ward of Anvard> Tyren comes walking down the open stair on the north side of the inner ward.

Outer Ward> Darius shoots her a impish grin as he straps his dagger back on. “Ah, you know me. Never leave home without it. ”

Inner Ward of Anvard> Tyren walks west toward the staff quarters.

Outer Ward> Megren says, “Do me a favor and stay out the ward, then. You want a shirt stitched, you send someone running for me and I’ll get it done for you.”

Outer Ward> Darrin continues to lounge in an appropriately menacing, yet casual fashion, next to the kennel doors and Colin.

Outer Ward> Darius finishes the knot on his dagger, giving her a wink. “Can’t be helped I’m afraid and as much as I appreciate the offer, you will be seeing me around. ” he pauses, glancing in the direction of Colin. “Of that I can assure you.”

Outer Ward> Megren gives a regretful tilt of her head. “Can’t say I didn’t try.”

Outer Ward> Colin appears to be extremely bored where he stands leaning on the walls of the kennel.

Outer Ward> Garian’s expression remains indifferent. His gaze flickers between the commoners and noblemen.

Outer Ward> Darrin might’ve muttered something unpleasant under his breath aimed at the man in the red tunic when said man glanced at Colin. Maybe.

Outer Ward> Darius bows his head to her. “As always, A pleasure Megren. ” he turns and begins making his way out of the Ward. Before he gets too far away, he turns and begins walking backwards. “Ah, but if you would let Colin know that my invitation is still open to him, it would be MUCH appreciated! ” He calls out, likely loud enough for the rest to hear as well, before turning back and continuing on his way.

Outer Ward> Garian rolls his eyes.

Outer Ward> Colin yawns.

Outer Ward> Megren waits until he’s out of sight before returning to the ward.

Outer Ward> Darius walks eastward toward the gatehouse.

Outer Ward> Garian mutters something akin to ‘finally’ when Aaron leave.

Outer Ward> Darrin rolls his eyes. “Always a pleasure, that one,” he says glibly, with an undercurrent of annoyance.

Outer Ward> Megren pivots a full half-turn once he’s disappeared, and makes her way back into the ward.

Outer Ward> Garian loos to Darrin and offers a wry smile and small bow. “Indeed.” He replies before heading toward Megren. “Guardswoman.” He greets her as he moves toward her.

Outer Ward> Megren raises her brows. “Captain. How long’ve you been here?”

Outer Ward> Darrin gives a small bow in return to Garian and returns to lounging against the wall. He glances at Colin beside him.

Outer Ward> Colin relaxes and rubs the back of his neck, glancing at Darrin and saying something.

Outer Ward> Garian says, “Not as long as I’ve been monitoring the situation.” He nods upward to the Inner Ward walk. He gives a surprisingly broad smile and his tone is one of pride. “I saw I wasn’t needed.”

Outer Ward> Garian adds, “As someone had the situation under control.”

Outer Ward> Colin mumbles “I … get … inside….I’ve … … … to before … courier departs.”, to Darrin.

Outer Ward> Darrin nods to him.

Outer Ward> Darrin mumbles “Right. … I’ll … … likely whenever … want to chat…went … see the … … and apparently … … … light … … such time … I’m cleared. … … for …”, to Colin.

Outer Ward> Darrin sighs dramatically.

Outer Ward> Megren only half-holds back a smile. She gathers her hands behind her back. “Thank you, Captain.”

Outer Ward> Colin grimaces with sympathy and nods. “I’ll catch you soon.” He bows to Lord Darrin and slips out of the ward.

Outer Ward> Garian beams, “I am very pleased with how you conducted yourself. This may have the unfortunate side effect of having to be Aaron’s babysitter in the Outer Ward, but… you seem to know exactly how to handle his shenanigans.” His expression dampens ad becomes more serious, “Although I would like to discuss what he said. While the Inner Walk is an excellent place to observe, it is not always the best to listen when there’s so much hustle and bustle.”

Outer Ward> Darrin gives a small bow in return to Colin, and then, with one more glance after the Guard-Captain and Megren, he too disappears inside the keep.

Outer Ward> Colin walks west toward the inner gatehouse.

Inner Ward of Anvard> Colin comes walking toward you from the inner gatehouse.

Inner Ward of Anvard> Colin walks west toward the staff quarters.

Outer Ward> Megren’s eyes catch Sir Colin and Sir Darrin leaving, and she frowns a little before returning her attention to the Captain. “The only matter of relevance, Captain, I think is that he seems to have a worrying fixation of Sir Colin. I fear he has plans against him, though I do not know what.”

Outer Ward> Darrin walks west toward the inner gatehouse.

Inner Ward of Anvard> Darrin comes walking toward you from the inner gatehouse.

Inner Ward of Anvard> Darrin walks west toward the staff quarters.

Outer Ward> Garian gives a small nod. “His parting words certainly indicate that.” He glances at the noblemen as they depart and looks back to Megren. “Perhaps he’s seeking a target that he can benefit from? With Lanisen, it was someone with a past who he could, in his mind, get into trouble and Sir Colin’s anger has given him a more beneficial target to… make trouble for.” He pauses, “Or perhaps he was aware of Lanisen’s friendship with Sir Colin and he’s been the target all along.” He shrugs. “Or perhaps he just wants to make as many annoyed as possible.”

Outer Ward> Megren says, “I’m sure I don’t know, captain.”

Outer Ward> Garian says, “At any rate, I wanted to thank you for your excellent handling of this situation tonight. Whatever Aaron is about will eventually be discovered or he will grow weary of this game and it will resolve itself.”

Outer Ward> Megren nods. “Yes, Captain.”

Outer Ward> Garian says, “But I will be sure to include your observations in my reports, as it is an important matter and I will try to meet with Sir Colin about it.”

Outer Ward> Megren says, “Yes, Captain.”

Outer Ward> Garian asks, “Any other thoughts on the matter, Guardswoman?”

Outer Ward> Megren glances at the kennel door. “I might ask Sir Colin to advise Lanisen stay out the kennels, Captain. Not that Aaron’s done anything dangerous, and I don’t know that he will, but…” she lifts a shoulder.

Outer Ward> Garian’s expression darkens faintly, “Aaron hasn’t done anything dangerous yet, but he’s done a lot of things to make a good number of individuals uncomfortable. He also seems keen to defy my orders. He is sorely mistaken if he thinks I won’t keep my word.” He shakes his head. “But that will bridge shall be crossed when we get to it. Thank you for your thoughts.”

Outer Ward> Megren nods again, pressing her lips together a little. “Of course, Captain.”

Outer Ward> Garian nods to her, “Have a pleasant eve, Megren.”
