In which nothing much happens
The Bird and Baby’s Tavern
This room echoes with a nearly constant din as voices rise and fall in conversation. An atmosphere of warmth and cheer predominates, and the walls have been painted a dark red. There are several tables for diners; many line the wall to provide for more private discussions. A board hangs in a highly visible location; it pays tribute to the history of the dining room and includes sketches of some of its more well known denizens. A menu, written out by hand, indicates what selections are being served. If the aromas emanating from the kitchen beyond are any evidence, the food is certain to please. In the back is a smaller room where isolated gatherings can be held. ==============================================================================

Haft sits at a table in the corner, sipping a mug of cider and enjoying a pork pasty.
Sehsis enters the tavern from the foyer and orders some tea, glancing about the tavern for a free table.
Dalia slips into the Tavern, shortly afterwards calling a greeting to Sehsis
Haft glances up at the sound of the name, but doesn’t look much bothered by the sight of the Calormene.
Sehsis takes no notice of Haft, instead giving Dalia a nod in greeting, “Good day Dalia”
Dalia makes her way up to the counter as well, ordering a rabbit stew. Clift gives her a surly look, but this just seems to be part of his personality. “Good Day, Sehsis. And how does the day find you?”
Haft looks mildly surprised to see Dalia in Coghill, but doesn’t call out to her.
Sehsis nods, “Well enough, yourself?”
Dalia nods, “Good.”
Haft observes the interaction between the two.
Sehsis nods towards a table, “I was about to take a seat, if you would like to as well I would not mind”
Dalia says, “That would be pleasant, thank you. ”
Sehsis takes a seat at the table.
Dalia spies Haft as She makes her way to the table with Haft, waving and greeting, “Greetings, Master Haft. Is Megren with you?”
Dalia says, “Dalia spies Haft as She makes her way to the table with Haft, waving and greeting, “Greetings, Master Haft.””
Haft inclines his head. “Greetings Dalia. Bit far from Anvard or Chesterton. Visiting relations?”
Sehsis frowns slightly but instead of saying anything, takes a sip of his tea.
Dalia says, “Visiting my aunt and Cousin who live here.””
Haft takes a draw from his cider. “That’s good. Always nice to see family.”
Dalia nods, “Has your trip been successful?”
Haft says, “Yeah. My sister was right pleased with the bulbs.”
Dalia nods, “Good to hear.” she smiles making her way to Sehsis’s table and seating herself.
Sehsis sets his teacup down, “Hello again”
Haft watches Dalia rejoin the Calormene with mild curiosity.
Dalia dips her spoon into the stew and tasting a bite. “This stew is rather delicious.”
Sehsis shrugs, “If that is your taste”
Dalia asks, “What are some foods from Calormen that you enjoy?”
Sehsis asks, “All sorts really, what kind do you wish to know about?”
Dalia says, “I am afraid I know little enough about them to ask. ”
Haft finishes his meal and rises, leaving the room.
